The Land Services Group is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning and is responsible for supporting the delivery of services and infrastructure that will help build thriving environments and communities across our state.
The Group is comprised of the Office of the Deputy Secretary and Land Use Victoria.
Land Use Victoria is responsible for providing whole of Victorian Government leadership on land information, policy, assessment, and advice, to enable government to use its land more strategically and maximise public value.
It is also responsible for managing the government's program for land administration and property information by providing innovative solutions for authoritative, comprehensive, and easily accessible services in land registration, property information, valuation, land surveying and geographic naming, land data management services and spatial mapping services.
It performs a range of statutory and non-statutory functions.
LUV also provides surveying services for major government infrastructure projects, provides all government property valuations and is responsible for all council valuations.

About the Role The primary purpose of the position is to provide subject matter expertise to the Compliance Team.
The role needs to develop and maintain the Compliance procedures and undertake training within the team.
It also engages with external stakeholders such as searchers, legal profession, conveyancers and banks through customer forums and industry presentations.
The position reports to Manager, Audit/Legislative Compliance in Business Services.
The Compliance team predominately focuses on Subscriber Compliance Program as part of Electronic Lodgement of conveyancing transactions.
Contribute to Land Use Victoria project initiatives; participate in business planning and implementation and make presentations to internal staff, customer forums and external stakeholders such as searchers, legal profession, conveyancers and banks. Key Skills Electronic Conveyancing Experience Experience in Audit & Compliance programs. Position Outcomes The role involves providing subject matter expertise and conducting complex compliance examinations as part of the Subscriber Compliance Program, while maintaining policies, procedures, and ensuring adherence to standards.
It also includes contributing to strategic initiatives, staff training, and fostering culturally safe environments that promote inclusivity and respect.

Qualifications and Experience Sound working knowledge of the Transfer of Land Act 1958, Subdivision Act 1989 and associated Acts (Surveying Act; Water Act; Property Law Act; Administration and Probate Act; Sale of Land Act; Instruments Act; Local Government Act; Evidence Act, and Privacy and Data Protection Act), the registration of dealings and plans, and the functions and procedures of Land Registry Services is highly desirable. Sound working knowledge of Electronic Conveyancing is highly desirable. Auditing or regulatory compliance experience is highly desirable. Experience sourcing and implementing technology solutions such as robotic process automation, large language learning models and machine learning is desirable.
