Reporting to the Inland Superintendent, you will be an integral member of the Pilbara Communities team, contributing towards Rio Tinto's Communities & Social Performance (CSP) strategies and outcomes.Broadly, within this role, your ongoing responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :Actively contribute to and support the delivery of HSEC initiatives, the 5-year CSP Strategy, Site CSP Asset Plans and the Pilbara Communities Annual PlanDevelop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external community stakeholders to identify needs and respond to issues / opportunities and implementation of business commitmentsCoordinate community events and festivals, including; management of contractors, logistics and internal and external communicationSupport Pilbara based social investment through the Community Giving program, including managing strategic long-term partnerships inclusive of relationship management, reporting on milestones, outcomes, financial analysis and acquittalsUndertake and contribute towards stakeholder identification and mapping activities, social & economic impact and risk assessments with supporting mitigation plans and implementation strategiesRespond to community and RTIO risks, incidents and issues (i.e., cyclones)Respond to community enquires and feedback, including complaints and grievancesRepresent Pilbara Communities at key community forums and key stakeholder engagementsCommunication and storytelling to promote local community initiativesApply professional knowledge and expertise to advise on and contribute to compliance with community and social performance, supporting data collection, validation and reportingWhat you'll bringTo be considered for this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification within a relevant field such as Social Science; Community Development; Social performance with demonstrated understanding and experience working within local communities in a regional context, and have a passion for internal and external stakeholder partnering and exposure in the below :Planning and Project ManagementCSP Planning, Monitoring & ReportingCommunity & Social InvestmentLand connected / Indigenous People supportGovernment RelationsCommunity Partnership Agreement ManagementAbility to manage complaints, grievance & issue managementDeveloped communication, negotiation and influencing skills, both verbal and writtenExperience in delivery of CSP projects and technical documents such as socio-economic baselines, social impact and risk assessments / management programsAbility to travel frequently across the Inland footprint and infrequent travel to other Rio Tinto operational including Perth City on an ad-hoc basis which may include overnight accommodation away from homeIf you are excited about the role and think you have what it takes but your experience doesn't align 100% we still want to hear from you.What we offerBe recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you've helped the world progress.A work environment where safety is always the number one priorityA permanent position working directly for Rio TintoFull relocation provided to Western Australia from elsewhere in AustraliaA competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive bonusComprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate familyAttractive share ownership planCompany provided insurance coverExtensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging optionsCareer development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitionsOngoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing supportLeave for all of life's reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave, cultural leave)Work on Country with a residential role which offers company housing and financial support with living expenses including rent and utilities (power and water).To better suit different family needs, our paid parental leave approach gives all parents the option to take 18 weeks of paid leave after a new child arrives – at a time that suits themExclusive employee discounts including hotel stays, banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more.We are committed to elevating Indigenous voices and increasing cultural knowledge in our business.
