Specialist Clinics is a consultative-based health service, incorporating teaching, training, research and minor procedures for clients from the community and non-bed based hospital patients. The department stretches across five locations on two campuses - Level 3 Lance Townsend Building (Austin Hospital), Tobruk Centre and Level 2 & Level 4, Centaur Building, Repatriation Hospital. Currently over 600 clients attend each day.

About the role

As the Specialist Clinics GP & Access Liaison Nurse, you are part of the Outpatient team working closely and collaboratively with specialty units and external healthcare providers. You will manage and improve clinic flow for better patient access and care pathways; oversee clinic referrals, triage, bookings, and workload to ensure consistency with resources; and improve collaboration between outpatient and medical/surgical services promoting a team environment.

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Excellent time management & clinical prioritisation skills

Demonstrated experience in the outpatient care setting

Highly motivated to improve the provision of quality care for patients requiring non-admitted care
