Join our dedicated team in Shepparton, where you'll work with a diverse peri-operative team to deliver exceptional care to the people of the Goulburn Valley. We're seeking specialists to enhance our growing anaesthesia services, offering newly qualified Fellows of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists a supportive environment to establish their consultant roles and explore clinical and non-clinical areas of interest. Goulburn Valley Health has seven operating theatres on the Shepparton site and is supported by a 10-bed Critical Care Unit, staffed by Fellows of the College of Intensive Care Medicine.
Department of Anaesthesia:
The Department of Anaesthesia is comprised of fourteen Specialist Anaesthetists. We are accredited for ANZCA training and have a total of eight registrars; the majority of these are drawn from the Victorian Regional Anaesthetic Training Network and the Eastern Victoria rotational training scheme. We also promote the training of registrars in CICM and ACRRM, alongside PGY1 and PGY2 doctors. Our work is enhanced by Acute Pain Nurse Consultants and a Research Coordinator with strong links to the ANZCA CTN.
About the role:
The role of the Staff Specialist Anaesthetist is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients of Goulburn Valley Health. The Department provides anaesthetic services for a variety of specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, dental, obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, urology, gastroenterology, endoscopy, and psychiatry.
We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, team-oriented FANZCA to join our growing Department. The ability and drive to contribute to service development is an important component of the role. Interests in acute and transitional pain or perioperative medicine would be desirable. There is the opportunity to work closely with the Research Department at Goulburn Valley Health and with the Universities affiliated with our Health Service.
