Our in-house and mobile workshop facilities enable our service, repair and testing of equipment to standards that ensure compliance and fit for purpose outcomes.
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Fitter/Technician to join our small close-knit team in Port Hedland to forge a rewarding and secure career with a reputable company.
You will be responsible for our Workshop Operations which includes specialised equipment service/repair activities, Mine Site Test/Tag/Calibration activities with our specialised mobile Van, the proactive planning and coordination of workshop activities with relevant Branch personnel, etc. Ultimately your challenges will be to produce work of a high quality standard capable of satisfying the requirements of our extensive client base. You will be based at our Port Hedland branch and on occasions will be required to work at Customer sites across the Pilbara to support our ongoing Asset Management Activities. This role is a "Drive in Drive out" DIDO role, which will ideally suit a candidate residing permanently in Port Hedland. Working Hours are normally based around a Monday to Friday 5 Day week, unless work commitments demand the occasional weekend work to be carried out consistent with Customer needs.
Requirements About the role: Service/Repair of specialised equipment used in variety of applications Manage the Workshop Service/Repair processes in a proactive, efficient and Customer focused manner with Branch team members in order to meet operational and financial business objectives Conduct Calibrations on a wide range of Measurement Equipment used in Industry Maintain a safe, clean and tidy Workshop Play a key role in the development and expansion of Workshop services onto Customer sites where appropriate. Manage the training and development of Apprentices where appropriate. Typical attributes we seek in our Ideal Candidate: Minimum 2 years Industrial experience within mining or other Pilbara Industries (or similar) Ideally Residing in Port Hedland (rental assistance available) Australian Recognised Trade/Technical Certificate Valid Driver's Licence Current RTIO Site Inductions (desirable but not essential) Current Roy Hill Inductions (desirable but not essential) Current BHP Induction (desirable but not essential) Current FMG Induction (desirable but not essential) Forklift licence (desirable but not essential) Flexibility to work on weekends occasionally to meet operational requirements MUST be able to pass Pre-Employment Medical and DAS. Capable of mentoring, coaching and training Apprentice Fitters and/or Technicians Minimum of 2 years of broad experience repairing portable, high pressure (700 Bar) hydraulic tools and associated specialised equipment A proven ability to rebuild and test intricate components to high standards A high level of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task Must be able to interpret parts lists and service documentation Conversant with the use of Computers and associated software products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) Capable of being trained to perform Calibration activities on a wide range of Measurement Equipment Familiar with the application of Asset Management techniques and processes to manage Customer Equipment Life Cycle expectations A neat and organised approach to your work The ability to work with minimal supervision Benefits What we are offering for the ideal Candidate: Competitive salary Superannuation Housing Provided Overtime available consistent with Customer needs Permanent/full time role Safe Working environment Potential for career growth and development within our national business The successful candidate will be provided with appropriate product/job training as required to ensure a safe and reliable transition into this role.
