As a dynamic and fast-growing organisation, we are looking for a full-time Commercial Litigator to join our team.
As a vital member of our team, you will:
Oversee the management and execution of high-stakes commercial litigation and dispute resolution cases, particularly in the Supreme Court. This includes handling complex, multi-party litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants, with a focus on shareholder disputes, directors and officers' liability, and warranty and indemnity claims. Lead all work streams related to litigation, including conducting thorough investigations, drafting pleadings, managing document discovery, and preparing evidence. Ensure the effective conduct of proceedings from start to finish, including managing trials and ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients. Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. This includes preparing, advising, and negotiating various agreements such as licensing, sponsorship, IP commercialisation, talent, film finance, and investor agreements. Ensure that all agreements are aligned with the client's business objectives and regulatory requirements. Maintain proactive and effective communication with clients and other stakeholders. This involves reviewing and advising on key agreements, liaising with opposing counsel, and managing relationships to facilitate successful deal closures and client satisfaction. Contribute to the growth and diversification of the practice by helping to develop new areas such as sports law, expanding the entertainment practice with existing clients, and exploring AI capabilities within legal services. Collaborate with other senior lawyers to identify opportunities for practice expansion and innovation. Apply your knowledge and experience in equity capital markets and private equity to provide specialised advice and support for clients in these areas. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating complex financial transactions and ensuring clients receive comprehensive legal services. While your primary focus will be on commercial litigation and corporate law, you may also be called upon to assist in other areas of law where appropriate, ensuring a well-rounded and comprehensive service offering for all clients. Extensive experience in commercial, commercial litigation & dispute resolution. Ability to manage stakeholder relations (in commercial transaction matters). Impeccable attention to detail and highly organised. Strong technical abilities Ability to manage competing deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work autonomously at an efficient pace under pressure. Strong work ethic and self-motivated and ability to work autonomously. Ability to work independently or in a team.
