The Team
We are proud to have a strong Class Actions presence nationally, working to secure justice for our clients in some of the nation's most prominent Class Actions, including the Worley Ltd and Blue Sky shareholder class actions, the Stolen Wages and Stolen Generations class actions, and the Ruby Princess class action. The team is led by two experienced and highly regarded Joint Heads of Class Actions and assisted by a dedicated team of Practice Leaders, Special Counsels, Senior Associates, and other legal professionals.
The Opportunity
Due to growth, this is a newly-created opportunity for a Special Counsel with experience contributing to the success of running class actions, or for an experienced Senior Associate seeking to step up into a Special Counsel position in our Sydney team. Whether you've come from defendant or plaintiff practice, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role on prominent cases, including contributing to case strategy, expert evidence, and investigations into new class actions. With mentorship from a team of highly experienced class actions practitioners, you will have an ideal balance of autonomy and guidance.

Managing the conduct of multiple class actions, using case plans and effectively delegating and overseeing the supporting legal team.Providing strategic advice and updates to Shine's partnered litigation funders on budgeting of individual and portfolio matters.Developing and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, providing regular and effective communication whilst managing expectations.Contributing to the origination and development of new class action opportunities.What you'll bring.To thrive in this role, you will have:
