Join Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development and #MakeADifference!About the role:In this role you will:Provide high level technical advice and assistance in the acquisition, development and management of spatial data associated with mining permits and permit related information.Create innovative solutions and efficient processes to improve spatial information data management and delivery of mining permit products and services.Research and prepare concise written and verbal reports for internal and external customers regarding project progress, contractual obligations, issues, and the recommendations for policy/procedural variations.Provide advice and contribute to the review of legislation and policy that relates to mining.Liaise and negotiate with departmental staff, clients, professionals and other agencies on departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the capture, supply and use of the Department's mining permit and permit related information and products, ensuring the team meets the needs of internal and external customers.Assist in the maintenance and development of internal and external facing spatial applications including spatial information content, functionality and integration with other government spatial information systems where relevant.Work independently and/or within a team environment by interacting with staff on a project basis to ensure that objectives are completed in a timely, appropriate and effective manner.This position requires:A university degree from a recognised tertiary institution or overseas qualification recognition as stated in the Mandatory Requirements section.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.The ability to manage multiple complex projects and business processes.Qualifications:A Degree qualification in Spatial Science Technology (Geoscience Information Systems) or an agreed equivalent specialising in geographic information science.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/604119/24Closing Date: Thursday, 28 November 2024Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.Please ensure you download all attachments and follow the instructions on how to apply.
