DutiesLiaise with the Commission's Planning Advisers, Senior Planning Consultants and Commission delegates as required, to provide specialist spatial and data analysis advice including geospatial advice, spatial and data analytics, data management and research to support Commission decision making on a range of land use and development matters, including complex planning issues and natural hazard risk challenges.Prepare high quality written and visual outputs in both 2D and 3D formats for internal and external stakeholders. This includes translating complex technical information and analysis into easy to understand, Plain English maps, reports and data visualisations to represent and communicate data and findings appropriate to the audience. This includes participation in Commission assessments, as required and the preparation of amendments to planning schemes.Collaborate with staff and Commission delegates to ensure assessments are supported with robust data sets and integrated spatial analysis.Support staff and Commission delegates by providing technical advice and training, as required.Develop bespoke applications to analyse spatial and non-spatial data to identify meaningful insights and contribute to data informed decision making.Develop, support, and maintain digital data infrastructure for geospatial datasets relevant to the Commission's statutory responsibilities, to ensure its accuracy and integrity.Consult with external stakeholders, including local government officers (both GIS and non-technical staff), state agencies, private GIS consultants, applicants and the general public, to assist in the development of map based planning scheme amendments and provide advice, guidance and training, as required.Maintain a working knowledge of a variety of GIS software and monitor ongoing developments in GIS software capability and applications.Perform other duties as required, in accordance with the classification of the role and the skills, competence and training of the occupant.Application ProcessTo apply, please provide a Short Form Application which is a 1-2 page covering letter outlining your experience, skills and knowledge as they relate to the Statement of Duties, and a copy of your current Resumé/CV.
