The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) has an exciting opportunity for an early career Spatial Analyst to join our Environmental Water Planning team to provide geospatial support and stakeholder engagement, to inform our management of environmental water across the NSW Murray-Darling Basin.
Job Grade / Classification: Environment Officer Class 7 - Salary from $101,850 - 112,530 + super
Employment Type: Temporary Full-time (to 30 June 2026 with a possibility of extension)
Location: Queanbeyan or Albury preferred; other locations will be considered for suitable candidates.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with staff across NSW DCCEEW and other NSW government agencies to undertake spatial and data analyses to support environmental water projects and programs. You will be working alongside more senior staff and have the opportunity to build your skills in the fields of spatial analysis, database management, and stakeholder engagement on large projects of State significance.
Essential Requirements Relevant scientific or engineering qualifications and experience in advanced geospatial data processing, experience working with large environmental datasets desirable.Experience with GIS software packages including QGIS and ArcGIS.Fieldwork/groundwork GIS experience desirable.Experience in writing technical reports and presenting work to project partners and stakeholders.Experience working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and organisations to deliver successful projects.Self-motivated and eager to contribute to team outcomes through innovation and development of technical skills in spatial data management (including programming).
