Develop standards, requirements and processes using subject matter expertise in risk assessment and geographic information systems.
Support the Principal Project Manager (Disaster Risk) to manage the disaster risk work program, including supporting relationships with local governments and Tasmanian and Australian Government agencies.
Provide the Branch, the Premier and Cabinet with specialist emergency management advice in spatial analysis and disaster risk.

Hours per fortnight Up to 73.5 hours - flexible options available.
Duties Design, implement and manage desktop/web Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
Develop, maintain and optimise data structures, databases and endpoints.
Create and implement GIS standards, policies and procedures.
Provide expert technical advice regarding spatial analysis relating to natural hazards, risk and resilience, to inform projects, policy development and emergency management activities.
Support the management of complex whole of government spatial analysis and risk projects.
Build and maintain positive consultative relationships with stakeholders to deliver project, policy and emergency management outcomes.
Assist with scoping, procurement and contracting of professional services from external consultants and contractors in accordance with government frameworks.
The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
Minimum Qualifications A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g.
spatial science, geographic information systems, environmental engineering, asset management or natural hazards science) or research experience to a similar level.
A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
