About the role As Officeworks continues to grow and evolve, our Commercial operating model reflects our vision to modernise and simplify our business. We are excited to announce a new senior Space Planning role leading the Space Range & Display team to maximise the return on space throughout our store network. With primary responsibility to ensure space is optimised and merchandising principles are implemented effectively and efficiently, this pivotal role forms an important part of our Space Planning senior leadership team. With customer experience at the heart of our decision making and in collaboration with the commercial leadership team and key business stakeholders, this key role will be responsible for developing and executing a space planning strategic roadmap. This roadmap will align with our every-channel enterprise-level strategy and corporate plan. Key responsibilities: Sales and Margin Growth - track percentage increase in sales and margin attributed to changes in SRD. Driving increased transaction value and attachment purchases. Accountable for the end-to-end process of range curation and space optimisation from insight through to execution. Stock Turn - Monitor how quickly inventory moves on shelf, reflecting optimal product placement and stock management driving operational efficiency for store teams. Planogram Compliance - Measure and report on planogram compliance across stores. NPS - Evaluate customer feedback on store layout and shop ability. Display Design - Create and maintain display equipment, ensuring cost effective solutions that maximise ROI. Cost Control - Management of equipment budget and SRD contractor fees. Space Productivity - Analyse sales/ margin performance across department, micro and macro to optimise profitability. About you This role is a unique combination of art and science, requiring a strategic use of space to enhance the customer shopping experience and provide a competitive edge through our every-channel value proposition. Success in this role will see you leverage your strong leadership skills, commercial acumen, and your ability to manage costs. You lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the team. Tertiary qualified, your ability to execute plans and effectively manage projects will contribute to the company's growth and profitability. An outstanding communicator, your ability to present to large groups and at any level is well honed. Adept at negotiating, your commercial acumen and stakeholder management is sound. Key experience: Proven experience in retail space planning or similar role (7+ years). Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data. Leadership skills with experience leading med - large teams. Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders. Proficiency in space planning software (Blue Yonder preferred).
