Up to $177,400+ superannuation, dependent on experience and qualifications.
The Role
Southern Ports is recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join their team in any one of our locations (Perth, Bunbury, Albany or Esperance).
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and strategic support to the Engineering Department and other stakeholders, internal and external to the business, on all issues pertaining to electrical engineering and asset management.
There is a further requirement to provide assurance that the business is obtaining value for money from its electrical asset management program and appropriately managing electrical risks, especially as they relate to personnel safety and statutory compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide sound technical advice, liaison and support on issues related to HV and LV electrical engineering design, project scopes, schedules and estimates, as required for the maintenance and planning of current and future port assets.
Ensure that Southern Ports' electrical assets comply with all statutory technical and safety codes, regulations, codes of practice and other relevant requirements.
Develop condition inspection methodology and schedule for electrical assets, collate and analyse results, communicate overall asset health to Asset Management team, and develop life cycle cost models and asset renewal plans.
Contribute to the development of accurate maintenance budgets and performance forecasts based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies.
Ensure the successful delivery of Electrical related projects, from concept to completion, in accordance with all applicable requirements, including Southern Ports' safety and environmental, and project management office project and contract management practices.
Build and maintain relationships with Maintenance Supervisors to ensure that the quality of maintenance works conducted are in accordance with specification.
Develop equipment and maintenance KPI's designed with understanding of electrical assets.
The Expertise
C Class WA Drivers License Chartered Professional Engineer, Engineers Australia.
Registered for the design of electrical systems within hazardous zones.
Qualifications in asset management and project management.
Demonstrated experience in managing technical projects in an industrial environment and designing of HV protection and earthing systems.
Demonstrated experience in strategic asset management practices, ideally with respect to the management of electrical assets.
Familiar with bulk handling assets.
Detailed knowledge of HV and LV electrical engineering design, operation and maintenance practices and standards, including the development of HV switching programs.
Detailed knowledge of electrical statutory regulations and standards, especially as they relate to safety.
Detailed understanding of electrical network control system architecture (SCADA).
Experience in hazardous area electrical certification.
Strong asset management skills, with a proven ability to optimise life cycle management strategies and deliver long term value from asset ownership.
