About the role
Lismore Community Health is seeking a Senior Lived Experience Worker (Senior Health Education Officer Non Grad) to join the team in the Adult Survivors Program. The Adult Survivors Program (ASP) is a specialist integrated service for adult survivors of child sexual assault (CSA) with complex mental health and alcohol and other drug needs. This NSW Health program is aimed at improving outcomes for adult survivors of CSA by working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide the lived experience perspective on healing and recovery. The senior lived experience worker is an integral and equal member of the team and develops relationships with consumers with the aim of empowering people to develop skills and strategies to enhance their recovery and wellbeing. Lived experience workers are integral members of the team and draw on their lived experience of recovery from CSA by providing person-centred recovery-oriented and trauma-informed support. The lived experience worker draws on their own recovery from child sexual assault to provide authentic engagement and support and instil confidence and hope about the journey of recovery. NSW Health supports flexible work arrangements; the location of this role may be successfully negotiated within the Northern New South Wales Local Health District sites.
