Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide leadership and direction to the People and Culture branch, promote and deliver high-quality outcomes to Council and contribute to corporate governance and strategic planning of Council. An exciting opportunity which will see you manage all aspects of the operational performance of the People & Culture branch, including day-to-day management and strategic direction of the various functions in conjunction with the relevant co-ordinators and team members. In addition, you will direct and lead the establishment and application of initiatives, frameworks and resources to enable and promote People & Culture in accordance with legislative requirements, corporate targets, community standards and industry trends.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated ability as a HR/ER/IR generalist, confidently working at senior executive level. You possess knowledge of and the ability to interpret, administer, communicate and comply with the relevant awards, agreements and legislation relevant to Queensland Local Government or similar, including working knowledge of WHS Act 2011, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
Proven visible leadership in a similar role is essential, providing guidance to your own team and advice to a diverse range of internal stakeholders including Executive and Managers across the organisation. You have exceptional communication and engagement skills with the ability to challenge and influence while developing trusted relationships with stakeholders and bring a positive attitude and professional approach.
Relevant tertiary qualifications are preferred, with extensive proven experience pertinent to this role. Additionally, you have worked with HRIS systems and relevant software and enjoy effecting continuous improvement and transformation.
