As a Technical Security Specialist, you will be a senior member of the Cyber Security Team and responsible for leading critical IT security functions within SA Police.
Your focus will either be leading SA Police's Cyber Incident Response capability or will be focused on Firewall and Network Security.
The Cyber Incident Response Specialist will work with internal and external stakeholders to lead the continued development and implementation of SA Police's cyber incident response capabilities.
You will have previously developed and implemented a cyber incident response capability or be able to demonstrate the experience of working in a mature cyber incident response team or SOC.
This is an ongoing position.
The Firewall and Network Security Specialist will have extensive experience of the day-to-day maintenance and configuration of firewalls, dealing with security incidents, monitoring logs and provide security guidance and expertise to other IT teams.
Ideally the candidate will have recent Check Point firewall experience or similar vendor-based firewalls like Palo Alto.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension.
What you'll need to succeed
Mandatory for being successful as a Technical Security Specialist:
The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL's iEngage program.
As a Technical Security Specialist focusing on Cyber Incident Response, you will have:
Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems Experience of preparing for cyber threats Ability to analyse and respond to malware threats Experience in investigating and analysing cyber security incidents Experience in handling and mitigating security breaches Knowledge of current cyber threats and attack vectors Experience in leading the response to cyber security incidents and mentoring junior colleagues.
As a Technical Security Specialist focusing on Firewall and Network Security, you will have:
Extensive hands-on experience of managing and configuring firewalls within a complex enterprise environment.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand security needs and assess/action requests.
Day to day maintenance and configuration of firewalls.
Implement and maintain security controls to protect internal resources from cyber threats.
Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other security team members to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
Provide security guidance and support to other IT teams.
Stay up to date with the latest security trends and technologies, recommending new approaches to enhance security posture.
Document security configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring they are well-documented and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Salary
ASO7 $108,109 to $116,864 per annum plus super.
