We are seeking an ESG Regulatory & Product Material Compliance Counsel responsible for the South Asia/Pac region to be based in India or Australia who will be a member of our Global Competency Center in our business function Legal and Integrity. This role will report to the Head of L&I Regulatory Affairs.
Your Responsibilities: Support corporate ESG & Product Regulatory Compliance roadmap.Monitor, interpret and advise on ESG and Product Material Compliance related regulations that impact the Hitachi Energy business in general and its product portfolio in a timely manner.Prioritize requirements, advise on consequences, and enable risk management.Align local or regional approaches with global processes and requirements, ensuring consistent implementation.Drive and guide legal responses to officials, coordinating with business and functional stakeholders.Provide guidance and conduct training to internal stakeholders on ESG and Product Material Compliance regulations.Drive compliance related projects cross-functionally.Embed compliance, recording, and declarations into existing processes and tools (portal, SharePoint, SAP, gate models, etc.) as available.Support the establishment of new or improvement of existing processes for ESG Regulatory and Product Material Compliance.Proactively identify and resolve compliance related issues and challenges.Ensure the implementation of corporate regulations and standards for ESG Regulatory and Product Material Compliance in South Asia/Pac.Education & knowledge sharing.Live core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Your Background: Graduate or postgraduate degree in relevant field.Minimum of 8-10 years' experience with ESG regulations with a focus on environmental regulations.Ideally, workable knowledge in Chemistry, Materials, or Engineering.Excellent communication skills on all managerial and executive levels in a complex matrix organization, ability to work and report remotely, open-minded and dynamic attitude to changes; intercultural sensitivity.Several years of experience in working in or with multinational enterprises with large matrix organizations.Experience in Project Management and managing external consultants and law firms.Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems (SAP).Hands-on and problem-solving mentality to challenge the status quo.Willingness to develop the role and scope considering the evolving regulatory environment.Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required; other languages are an asset.Willingness to travel (10-20%). #J-18808-Ljbffr
