Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE This role is a Permanent full-time position based at the Dendrobium mine which is, near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW, and approximately 75 kilometres south of Sydney.
As the Ventilation Officer, you will manage the mine ventilation system in compliance with the site Safety Management System and relevant statutory legislation.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: Exercise the statutory function as Ventilation Officer as a defined key statutory function in accordance with WHS (Mines and Petroleum Sites) legislation. Complete monthly ventilation surveys and maintain the gas monitoring network. Deliver detailed ventilation modelling and design of the ventilation system using VentSim software. Monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of ventilation and monitoring systems. ABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Experience working in underground coal operations with demonstrated time involved in Coal Mine Ventilation Management. Strong knowledge of VentSim modelling software. Ability to effectively communicate and influence across various levels of the business. Understanding and involvement with mine planning process from 0-2 year horizon and impacts beyond this. Demonstrated ability to select, develop, coach, and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity and organisational capability. Qualifications for this position are:
Ventilation Officers Certificate or Graduate Diploma in mine ventilation or equivalent. Practicing Certificate to perform function of Ventilation Officer.
