About the role As a Senior Sous Chef at Three Blue Ducks, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes, and maintaining a smooth workflow. Your responsibilities include overseeing food preparation, training and supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory, and ensuring that hygiene and food safety standards are strictly adhered to. You will collaborate closely with the culinary team to design and execute innovative menus, handle daily kitchen activities, and ensure timely delivery of orders during service hours. Additionally, you will assist in managing food costs, controlling waste, and optimising kitchen efficiency. Strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for culinary excellence are key attributes for success in this role.
Tasks and responsibilities include: Assist the head chef in developing new dishes and menus aligning with our ethos of delicious and ethical food served in a relaxed setting. Oversee food quality, presentation, and consistency in line with restaurant standards. Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards. Adhering to strict food safety and hygiene protocols Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor stock levels to avoid shortages. Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and streamlined kitchen operations Monitor and control food costs, waste, and portion sizes for maximum profitability. Contributing to a positive, hardworking and supportive team culture What we're looking for 3+ years experience as a qualified Sous Chef Strong technical cooking skills and a keen eye for flavour combinations and presentation Excellent time management, multitasking and problem-solving abilities Coordinate workflow and scheduling of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
