Apply now Job no: 531318 Work type: Maximum Term Full Time Location: Brisbane Categories: Chef / cook Our breathtaking resort, positioned at the heart of the new Queen's Wharf Brisbane precinct, will commence a staged opening in August 2024, bringing a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre to the river city. We are seeking a talented chef to join our team at The Riverside Cafe, our busiest outlet, while we cover for our Chef de Cuisine on long-term medical leave and our Sous Chef on a pre-planned five-week absence. This is a fixed-term contract, offering a low-risk opportunity to showcase your skills in a vibrant environment. Your key responsibilities: Lead the culinary team to reach their financial and operational targets by driving growth, developing policies and procedures, nurturing supplier collaborations, and motivating team management. Demonstrate the ability to prepare food items to the highest standards in accordance with established menu plans, recipes, and The Star Brisbane's food safety plan while meeting outlet requirements. Implement, oversee, and analyse the following areas to ensure optimal performance: Quality of production and preservation Operating, payroll, and food costs Sanitation, hygiene, and guest satisfaction Actively participate in menu planning and restaurant concept development to maintain product quality and maximise covers/revenue. Evaluate the performance of all direct reports and provide mentorship to enhance each team member's growth. About you You are a motivational leader with several years of experience gained in Culinary management of a large brigade. You will be able to demonstrate strategic planning, resource management and cost control whilst also keeping the guest experience at the heart of what we do. You will lead by example and have an innate ability to inspire a diverse team of culinary professionals at different stages of their career. About us The $3.6 billion Queen's Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.
