Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and espresso bar in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD offering breakfast and lunch dine in and takeaway food and drink options. Coffee Beans are roasted by Quest Coffee Roasters, offered for purchase and used for coffee service. We are looking to open for light dinners and cocktail service on Fridays and Saturdays. We have a job opening for a Sous Chef to join the team starting with around 16hrs+ casual per week i.e. Fri and Sat 3pm to 8pm +/- 1hr each day. There is scope to increase this to full time for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Food preparation and cooking a variety of sweet and savoury dishes.
Providing assembly / heating instructions and directions to the cafe team.
Monitor and maintain inventory of baking and cooking ingredients, ensuring an adequate supply of raw materials while minimising waste and spoilage.
Delelop a dinner menu, and collaborate with the Head Chef on refining recipes.
Attention to detail and presentation
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and machinery, performing routine maintenance and reporting any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate department.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations
ABOUT YOU
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 or more years of recent experience as a Cook or Chef
Strong listening and verbal communication skills
A strong understanding of health and safety
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Australian citizen or resident with permanent working rights in Australia
Availability to work at least Fridays and Saturdays until 10pm (if required)
Loves high quality food
Own transport to and from work
NICE TO HAVE
Professional cookery, chef, or food science certification or degree.
Baking experience.
