The Leederville is on the hunt for a full-time Sous Chef to join our team. The Leederville Precinct is a busy operation responsible for servicing The Garden, The Leederville Hotel, and Servo. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and cook high-quality food, in fashionable trends. Lead and manage a team of chefs/cooks. Ordering, receiving, and storage of food. Maintain safe, hygienic food handling practices and cleanliness in line with Food Safety standards. Ensuring an efficient kitchen operation. Hire, train, roster, and mentor kitchen staff alongside management. Communicate and collaborate with front of house and management. REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience as a sous chef in a commercial kitchen within a busy bistro. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Strong focus on food hygiene and safety systems. Effectively roster staff and manage labour costs. Able to manage target COGs. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Stock control, ordering, and rotation. Flexible with working hours. Passion for producing consistent, quality food. A strong work ethic and the ability to multitask.
