Job Type: Permanent position | Full time positionJob DescriptionPrimary Purpose: This role is directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, cost and labour control, preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; lead, manage and train kitchen team in methods of cooking, preparation and plate presentation.Position Specifications:Work alongside, guide and supervise all kitchen team members of a lower levelAble to perform & delegate all key duties of other positions within the kitchen teamOn call for any emergencies and any unexpected store or staffing requirementsControl kitchen expenditures (i.e. COG's) through the development and the use of par levels for ordering/receiving and storage proceduresControl kitchen COE through the development of people, efficient practices and managementMaintain stock control through ordering, recording & monitoring wastage and accurate monthly stock takesAssist with the recruitment, selection and induction of efficient and friendly staffTraining and ongoing development of kitchen team membersEnforce daily and weekly systems and procedures to ensure a high level of presentation, hygiene, service, product quality and securityAssisting the store leader to effectively discipline and praise staff as requiredPerform administrative duties in conjunction with the Store Leader (i.e. collecting invoices, recording food safety requirements)Ensure all menu items are available throughout the entire trading day, including through cookingEnsure the cleanliness of the kitchen is in alignment with Food Safety requirements and hygiene practicesExperienceMinimum 2 years' experience in a casual dining environment or caféQualificationsCertificate III Commercial Cookery or equivalent (essential)Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential)Certificate IV Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred)Current First Aid Certificate (maintained by employee) (essential)Good Food Gold Academy (mandatory within 6 weeks of start date)KnowledgeDemonstrated knowledge of The Coffee Club policies and procedures as outlined in The Coffee Club Team Handbook and manualsDetailed and up to date knowledge of preparation and presentation of all meal items in accordance with the Good Food ManualDetailed knowledge of all kitchen operationsKnowledge of food safety, workplace health & safety regulations and relevant industrial relation regulationsSkillsAbility to establish clear lines of communication with team members, Store Leader, Shift Leader/s, Franchisee/s, corporate office and suppliersEffective leadership and management skillsAbility to train, guide, work hands on and alongside staff as required to ensure we provide Good Food at all times regardless of who is working in the kitchenAbility to communicate effectively with fellow staff and managementAbility to assist in promoting sales by creating innovative and well-presented daily and weekly chef's choice of meals (CBR only)Ability to work unsupervisedAttitude and ExpectationPro-active, positive, enthusiastic, energetic, responsible and friendlyCan do attitudeHappily, and diligently adheres to The Coffee Club dress code at all timesProvide positive, constructive feedback for team members, Store Leader and Franchisee/sActively demonstrate, promote and practice 'The Coffee Club mission and core values' through interactions with team members and customersFocused on success whilst ensuring ethical standards are adhered toFocused on ensuring open communication and good working relationships with all staffCommitment to continuous learning and personal developmentKey Performance IndicatorsAdhering to all of The Coffee Club standards, procedures and policiesDemonstrates and practices personal presentation which is professional and adheres to The Coffee Club dress codeMaintains effective communication with Franchisee/s, staff, suppliers and The Coffee Club Corporate OfficeDemonstrated commitment to provide Good Food, Great Service and Excellent Coffee.Experience managing customer data and CRM platforms and programsSalary: $74,000 - $80,000 plus superOnly eligible and shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
