Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position is perfect for someone with a passion for food, hospitality, and team management, who is eager to help create exceptional dining experiences.
Duties Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. Ensure that all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to within the kitchen. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Help in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes. Maintain inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary. Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency and quality in every dish served. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area. Experience Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary operations. Experience in food production techniques, including preparation, cooking, and presentation. A background in hospitality is preferred, with an understanding of customer service excellence. Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
