$85K + 11.5% super

Iconic location – National Gallery of Victoria - Garden Restaurant
7 day per week roster - required 5 days

Restaurant Associates are a team of world-class hospitality and fine-cuisine professionals, delivering contemporary food solutions and service across leading corporations and iconic venues across Australia.

THE POSITION:

Sous chef assisting with functions and retail operations.
Train, develop and become part of a dynamic culinary team at the National Gallery of Victoria.
Must have functions and a la carte restaurant background.
In the absence of the Head Chef; oversee preparation and delivery of service.
Assist with rostering of staff and ordering of stock.
Work with the Head Chef to evolve and innovate.
Uphold health and safety compliance.
5 days over 7 days, 7am starts or late finishes around 9pm. Hours and days worked are business dependent.

THE PERSON:

Trade qualified with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in functions and events along with some fine dining.
Well versed in HACCP and diligent in adhering to local regulations concerning health, safety, and other compliance requirements.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner.
Good planning, organisational, and communication skills.
Hardworking with a flexible approach and attitude.
Previous experience cooking in a similar environment.
Team player and able to work autonomously.
