WACricket is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at the iconic WACA Ground. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to support our Head Chef in delivering high-quality cuisine across a range of areas, including functions, events, and retail on game days at the WACA Ground and other associated venues. If you're ready to bring your culinary skills to a vibrant and evolving environment, we'd love to hear from you!Key Responsibilities: Prepare, cook and present high quality dishesOptimise the cooking process with attention to speed and qualityAssist with the management of health and safetyAssist with the management of food hygiene practicesAssist with the scheduling, management and training of casual staff membersMonitoring portion and waste controlProactively assist the Head Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishesCoordinate food and product ordering and assist with stocktakesAssist in managing maintenance of the kitchen and equipment food safety standardsTake charge of the kitchen operations when required in the absence of the Head ChefWho We Are Looking For: Trade Certificate, Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial CookeryPrevious demonstrated experience in a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef RoleAbility to work as a team, but also work independentlyAbility to meet deadlines and achieve identified goalsGood communication and organisational skillsThe physical capability to perform the requirements of the jobAble to multitask and work efficiently under pressureCommitment to delivering an elevated level of customer serviceKnowledge of best cooking practicesExcellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processesAvailability to work weekdays, weekends and some public holidays as required for eventsThe perks!
