We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sous Chef to join our team.
The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring the quality of food preparation and presentation.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment is essential.Responsibilities:Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring the quality of food preparation and presentationPrepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelinesSupervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation practicesEnsure that all food items are stored, handled, and prepared safely and hygienicallyMaintain inventory levels and order supplies as neededAssist in menu planning and developmentEnsure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working conditionMaintain a clean and organized kitchen environmentPerform other duties as assigned by the Head ChefQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentCulinary degree or equivalent experience preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience in a professional kitchenKnowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and sanitation practicesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysIf you are passionate about food and want to be part of a dynamic team, apply now!About us:The Canberra Southern Cross Club is one of Canberra's largest private employers with four hospitality venues and several fitness centres across the region.
