We offer our guests a unique Tasmanian local produce food experience with a current Alpine experience providing 7-day dinner service from 5:00 pm, lunches from 1:00 pm, take away from our main menu for guests to take back to their chalets, and a focus on creating exceptional food experiences. ABOUT THE ROLE Our restaurant is seeking a talented chef passionate about creating unforgettable dining experiences using only the freshest ingredients found in the great outdoors. This full-time role is suited for passionate chefs wanting to work with a highly experienced executive chef and an industry-proven, supportive senior management team. Our menu is seasonally varied. We make bread daily, stocks and sauces, pickles, preserves and so much more. Our food is made with the highest level of skills, passion, and a desire to create the best food experience possible for our guests. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO QUALIFY Be fit and able to perform repetitive manual tasks Be able to work in a team environment and support your fellow members Demonstrate honesty, integrity and have a strong work ethic Be willing to work in a remote location Be reliable, punctual, and able to work 5 days per week Be eligible for work in Australia Have a passion for great food A desire to learn and refine your craft Experience in the smooth running of food service in an a la carte restaurant Knowledge of food costs and budgeting Confidence in ordering, rostering, and mentoring WHAT WE OFFER Our teams live on the mountain here at the property in a very harmonious environment. The nearest town is just over an hour away. We recommend you have a vehicle to be able to escape the mountain from time to time and to be able to stock up on food supplies. We provide self-contained accommodation, usually sharing with another couple. Discounts on food and drinks apply both with us and at each of the other venues here to support our 'mountain folk'. We have an EAP program for our employees. Rent costs are ONLY $5 per week so it is a great chance to save some money.
