Our food and offering are paramount to our success, and we are seeking the right person to take ownership of our events and catering arm.We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef - Events and Catering with a strong work ethic, creativity, and knowledge across a variety of cuisines. Your hands-on approach will make you a successful leader and team player. You will report directly to our Head Chef and work closely with both back and front of house. Exceptional communication and organisational skills are essential.This full-time role involves a 40-hour work week across all events, with occasional support required in the café. The role spans a 5-day work week, including weekends due to the nature of the work.About Us:The Chambers is an established café in Cairns City with a focus on tasty brunch and delicious flavours, all beautifully presented. Our menu features local ingredients, utilising the very best available. We operate from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday to Sunday, with private functions and events across both days and evenings. The Chambers offers both indoor and outdoor seating in a historic 98-year-old building.
