We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Full-time Sous Chef to join our DIDO Resources Catering Team on a 2/1 roster DIDO to Homeground (Gladstone). Reporting to the Village Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all safety and quality processes are followed and exceed customer expectations in regard to a healthy and delicious food offering, whilst being in line with contractual requirements. The Head Chef will assist with managing a team and cater for a large number of residents, creating and preparing menus for all meals such as Breakfast, Dinner and Crib. This is a rare opportunity to display your passion, team management and culinary experience.
The Position: Responsible for effectively managing P&L and food costsResponsible for effectively managing kitchen operations/logistics including stock control Understand and manage client expectationsSupervision of Chefs in relation to day-to-day operationsEnsure compliance with Healthy, Safety and Environment requirements All flights to and from Brisbane or Sunshine CoastAccommodation, meals and uniforms provided whilst on site Access to staff discounts with companies including insurance Traineeship opportunities for eligible employeesInternal opportunities within our large global organisationAustralian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery essentialPrevious leadership experience preferred High volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experienceExperience in a mining village operation preferred but all professional kitchen experience consideredPrevious experience working in a remote setting desiredStrong leadership skills, self-motivated and can demonstrate initiative on the jobExcellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and managementPolice check of Validity within 3 months To apply for this role please click on the 'apply' link and complete the online application.
