Sous Chef - Crowne Plaza Mawson Lakes Pre-Opening

Behind the scenes, you'll ensure quality, maintain high standards and keep the kitchen running smoothly.   Every day is different, but you'll mostly be: Making every single meal a feast for the eyes and treat for the tastebuds Working closely with the Executive chef on menu creation and delivering a memorable experience to our guests  Directing daily kitchen activities as well as coaching and developing a capable team in a pre-opening hotel Encouraging and addressing guest feedback Some administrative tasks including but not limited to rostering, stock take and ordering   What We need from you: Experience as a Sous chef or one year in a supervisory capacity,  You have a genuine passion for the food industry, ensuring quality and maintain high standards and keep the kitchen running smoothly Understanding of HACCP and Work, Health and Safety legislation Passion for team development and mentoring your team Well rounded experience in creating food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, rooms service and banqueting Have a current Food Safety Certificate Available to work a rotating roster, this includes evenings, weekends and Public Holidays Must have working rights for Australia You'll be rewarded for your hard work with a suite of benefits that supports you and your family's wellbeing, including: Paid birthday leave Hotel perks like accommodation and food & beverage discounts Enhanced parental leave Proactive health days and flexible work options.
