We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Specialist at our Perth CBD location, on a permanent full-time basis.
About this role As the Sourcing Specialist you will be responsible for increasing value by improving safety, service, quality and compliance outcomes whilst reducing risk and costs across Western Power portfolio of contracts.
This portfolio includes Emerging and Corporate Technology contracts (such as power generation, Standalone Power Systems, ICT/IT services/hardware/software, batteries and other new technologies) and works alongside other sourcing and category professionals.
This also includes executing the sourcing strategy and the formation and execution of commercially suitable agreements to maximise the value derived from the contracts.
This is achieved by providing sustainable solutions that meet Western Power's business objectives.
Additional responsibilities include: Responsible for medium/high risk source to contract activities to achieve the best commercial outcome for Western Power.
This includes sourcing strategy development and execution, issuing tenders to the market, reviewing and evaluating tenders, commercial and financial assessment, negotiation, recommendation for award and execution of commercial arrangements.Responsible for data management of sourcing related information, e-procurement tools and systems.Identifying opportunities to deliver value, process efficiencies and business improvements relevant to sourcing function.Lead commerciality and governance for contract development and execution within Western Power including compliance to policies and guidelines.Contribute to and support the development of strategies relevant to the sourcing function.Contribute to and support enterprise risk management.Support the Safety, Health, Environmental and community programs.About you We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
Degree qualified in Procurement, Contract, Business, Finance and/or related discipline and/or suitable demonstrated experience.Sound knowledge and experience in developing and executing sourcing strategies to generate value, tender management and procurement.Demonstrated strong understanding of risk and compliance management and its application with respect to procurement.Customer and results focus.Strong influencing, communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to review and assess financial & pricing models.Demonstrated strong negotiation skills.Strong knowledge and experience in Contract Law, Construction Law, Australian Consumer Law and related legislation and regulations.Ability to prioritise work and critically assess own performance.Demonstrated strong conceptual and analytical skills.Joining Western Power Our people play a vital role in creating an innovative, safe, and supportive workplace, living our values and delivering exceptional service to the communities in which we operate.
