About The RoleWe are looking for an exceptional Solution Engineer to join our team of super heroes. You will have the opportunity to be the customer interface of an exciting new technology. You will work closely with the sales team presenting ThousandEyes in prospective business opportunities; be instrumental in working with prospects during trials of ThousandEyes to highlight business value; educate prospects, customers and the sales team on ThousandEyes and how it applies to industry trends and business initiatives; and accelerate ThousandEyes growth through expanding market awareness of ThousandEyes and closing business.
What You'll DoSupport the technical sales processAssist sales in technical prospecting to help uncover opportunitiesDemonstrate solution to showcase capabilities and use-casesBuild and maintain a technical and trusted advisor relationship with customersScope and architect solution deploymentsPresent to decision makers during trial wrap-up meetingsParticipate as a member of the Solutions Engineering teamsParticipate on weekly team meetingsParticipate in quarter business review sales meetingsPresent technical topics and successful winsShare technical challenges and ways to overcomeInteract with team to ask questions, share experiences, and exchange ideasHelp establish and enhance demonstration material showcasing the solutionResearch technical topics impacting the industry to grow as an industry leaderInterface with MarketingSupport trade shows and networking eventsSupport ThousandEyes Connect eventsContribute to blog and social media postsSuggest and contribute to white-papers and case-studiesInterface with Product Management and EngineeringProvide solution feedback from hands-on use and customer interactionProvide solution suggestions and enhancements to drive solution strategyParticipate, drive and provide feedback on internal and external solution beta programsInterface with Customer SuccessCoordinate with Customer Success in providing post-sales support (training, deployment, support, etc.)Encourage and guide customers to utilize Customer Success as an extension of their NOC to help ensure successQualifications5+ years of Solutions Engineering ExperienceExcellent presentation, communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong understanding of application and network protocols (e.g., HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, BGP)Knowledge of application and network infrastructuresKnowledge of unified communicationsExperience with application and network performance analysis solutionsExperience with packet analysis of network and application protocolsExperience with Apple, Linux and Microsoft operating systemsTravel required as applicableCisco values the perspectives and skills that emerge from employees with diverse backgrounds.
