The Purpose: The Solution Architect plays a key role in driving AP+ toward becoming Australia's leading digital payments firm.
Acting as the crucial bridge between our IT capabilities and business goals, this role ensures the successful delivery of software features by overseeing analysis, design, testing, and deployment activities.
The Solution Architect works across both agile product teams and waterfall project teams, ensuring that architectural decisions align with business objectives, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities: Translate business requirements into viable technical solutions for the enhancement of our payment solutions.
This involves working with both agile product teams and waterfall project teams. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse and understand business needs, and translate these needs into architecture and design requirements. Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across the entire product landscape. Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams in the implementation of the designed solutions. Perform regular reviews of system architecture and design, offering recommendations for improvements or enhancements. Understand, advocate, and support IT strategies, and analyse its impact on the business objectives. Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the company's business plan and its technology standards. The capabilities we're seeking are: Minimum 7 years of experience in a solution architecture role, ideally in the payment industry. Proven experience in designing and implementing complex systems architectures. Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields. Professional certification in Architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) would be an advantage. Strong understanding of architectural principles, models, patterns, and perspective on IT architecture and the financial industry. Knowledge of the full technology stack including front-end, back-end, database, network, and DevOps. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in the payments industry in Australia.
