This role is an opportunity to apply your experience designing, implementing and maintaining secure data and analytics and lakehouse architectures. This is a chance to leverage your strengths designing modern, cloud-based architectures so that data, analytics and AI become drivers across the organisation.As a Solutions Architect you will work closely with security and data governance to ensure alignment to standards; and document solutions for the platform team to build. You will have a strong background in DevOps and continuous improvement.Key AccountabilitiesDesign and document solutions for a data lakehouse on Snowflake, using Alation for data governance and connecting to Power BI and Workato. The solutions cover
Data ingestion, processing, storage, and access within Snowflake, integrating both structured and semi-structured data.Data quality, consistency, and reliability and strategies for deduplication, validation, and error handling.Monitoring and alerting mechanisms to track performance, usage, and errors.
Collaborate with DevOps, Data Engineering, and Security teams to ensure optimal build and integration of the data layerTrack costs and performance and optimize designs for cost efficiency and performanceProvide technical leadership and mentoring to team membersStay current with emerging cloud and data technologies and best practicesFuture proofing designs to meet evolving business requirements and incorporate new technologies

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field5+ years of experience in cloud and / or lakehouse design in AWS, Azure, or GCPStrong experience with cloud data warehousing, particularly SnowflakeFamiliarity with data management tools like Alation and integration platforms like WorkatoExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesStrong understanding of security principles in cloud environmentsExcellent communication and documentation skillsExperience working in Agile development environmentsUnderstanding of Australian Government ICT Security policies or equivalent Industry best practicesAustralian citizen with ability to obtain baseline clearance if required.
