As Solution Engineer Lead , you will play a crucial role in guiding technical teams and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions that meet business needs and align with our data platform strategy.
You will provide technical leadership and direction to engineering squads within Data Platforms Consume Finance & Cash and Transactional Banking, ensuring designs and architectures align with the overall technical strategy.
Your responsibilities will include providing oversight and accountability for reviewing and validating technical designs and estimates produced by team members, designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful delivery.
You will engage with architecture and technology counterparts to design and develop solutions that deliver business, technology, and data platform outcomes, review code and test cases to ensure they meet quality standards and business requirements and implement and enforce coding standards for readability, maintainability, and reusability.
Additionally, you will mentor and coach junior engineers, providing constructive feedback and supporting their professional development, work closely with business stakeholders to define and estimate new epics and user stories, facilitate communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, lead work breakdown sessions, contribute to sprint planning, and ensure the team takes on a realistic but challenging amount of work.
Furthermore, you will represent teams in various data architecture design and solution governance forums, presenting data solutions for approvals from governing bodies.

What do I need?
10+ years in software engineering, IT, or a related field.
Proven track record in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
Strong technical skills in big data technology stacks.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern development practices.
Expertise and strong interest in the latest developments in the world of data and AI.
Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, coding standards, and best practices.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
Experience in building real-time and batch data solutions.
Understanding and working knowledge of data products.
Expertise with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
Experience leading engineering teams and managing projects from inception to delivery.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.
Experience in conducting technical interviews and recruiting new team members.
Proven ability to work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and other cross-functional teams.
Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to think strategically and align technical solutions with business goals.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
Tertiary qualifications in Computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
