The Technology team is part of the Finance & Group Services Division and is accountable for the Challenger Group's technology landscape across the organisation. Ensure seamless integration of business needs with technology solutions, collaborating with our technology partners to maximize value and drive optimal outcomes. We work flexibly from our Sydney CBD Office where you can expect to work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
The Solution Architect is a pivotal role within our Technology team, responsible for supporting and maintaining the reference architecture, strategies, and end-to-end solution architecture across various technology platforms and business domains. This role ensures alignment between business needs and technology solutions, working closely with our technology partner to deliver optimal business value and outcomes.

The team is structured into the following four main functions: Service Delivery, Infrastructure, Architecture and Corporate Technology support. The role acts as an important link between the business and our technology partner, ensuring that solutions are designed to meet business/user requirements while also aligning to the overall strategy and enterprise architecture.

You'll also be responsible for:

Technology Alignment Understand and Align Solutions: Ensure technology solutions support and align with business strategy. Advise on Technology Solutions: Provide guidance on technology that advances business objectives. Enterprise Architecture Support Enterprise Architecture Strategy: Contribute to the overarching enterprise architecture strategy. Establish Guidelines and Standards: Promote and uphold enterprise architecture best practices. Collaboration and Governance Collaborate on Roadmap: Collaborate with our technology partner on the roadmap to the target state. Participate in Architecture Review Board: Engage in reviews to ensure sound architectural decisions. Ensure Governance: Oversee design, issue resolution, and decision-making across solutions. Compliance and Security Ensure Compliance: Adhere to cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance regulations during changes. Vendor and Change Management Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee technology vendor partnerships for optimal collaboration. Ensure Effective Change Management: Collaborate with product owners and the technology partner to ensure change initiatives provide business value and strategic alignment.
The successful candidate will have prior experience in IT Architecture and be familiar with IT infrastructure systems. You'll be highly motivated, organised and can build trusted relationships.

Experience within investment management or ASX listed organisations would be advantageous, after all our business is unique. Exposure to unit trust, market data, life insurance products, annuities and actuarial solutions would be advantageous. To ensure you are set up for success, we require at least 5 years' experience in a technology architecture role with further studies complete e.g. TOGAF.
