One of our clients, a long-established legal firm based in Mackay, is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is vital to the success of the business and we are looking for a results driven, enthusiastic and organised person to provide day to day legal advice to their clients.
Responsibilities for the position include:
Meeting with clients to gather information and explain legal mattersResearching cases and litigationDefending clients in CourtResearching relevant laws and previous cases of interest to provide a client with accurate adviceDrafting legal documentsLiaising with clients and other professionals such as BarristersBuilding strong relationships with the Firm's client baseThe Solicitor works closely with the owner and Principal Solicitor to deliver the legal functions that underpin the success of the business. To be successful for this role, you will have a solid legal background, strong leadership skills and the ability to direct the work of others. You must possess good communication skills, be honest, reliable, hardworking and have pride in the quality of your work.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
A current Practising Certificate and demonstrated experience in all areas of LawExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a meticulous eye for detailThe ability to work autonomously with a high level of initiative and be an effective team memberA dedicated focus on building and fostering relationships with our growing base of clients and referrersExperience in dealing with confidential and sensitive mattersSkills in the use of MS Office, Outlook and other software and databasesHigh quality written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAccurate proof reading, grammatical and spelling skillsAbility to work within tight timelinesExperience in using PEXA on conveyancing and other property mattersThe important work that the business delivers is driven by the passion of their team and their commitment to providing quality legal advice.
