The Opportunity MIGA is embarking on an exciting journey of growth. We are seeking two Solicitors looking to join our legal team who are dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to the medical profession.
One of these positions will be offered on a fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave, whilst the other position will be ongoing.
Reporting to the Claims & Legal Services Manager SA, VIC, WA, TAS & NT, these positions will be responsible for:
Providing high-quality and timely telephone and written general medico-legal advice services direct to clients including preparation of file notes and file maintenance as part of MIGA's advice service. Managing a portfolio of claims and notifications including civil and professional conduct matters, including working with clients with responses to regulatory bodies and providing ongoing representations as required. Assisting the Claims & Legal Services team with legal research and other tasks as required. Assisting with various tasks associated with internal and external claims audits. What we're looking for Success in this position is characterised by effective collaboration and meaningful contribution to the attainment of both individual and team goals with the ability to build effective relationships across broader stakeholder groups, along with:
A degree qualification in law and current unrestricted practising certificate. Holding and maintaining Tier 2 education level as per ASIC PS 146 Licensing: Training of financial product advisors (if the successful candidate does not hold a Tier 2 level qualification, MIGA will assist them in obtaining the qualification).
