A rewarding opportunity exists for an ongoing Solicitor (VPS 4) in the Legal Services team at the Victorian Inspectorate (VI).
The VI is the lead oversight body in Victoria's integrity system, providing oversight of the Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC) and other integrity, accountability, and investigatory bodies and their officers.
The VI also plays a key role in Victoria's public interest disclosure scheme.
Job Overview Reporting to the Manager, Legal Services, the Solicitor provides authoritative legal advice and services, including supporting investigations, undertaking comprehensive legal research, reviewing legislative proposals, and providing in-house legal advice on integrity operations and policy to support the VI's oversight of the Victorian integrity system.
To support the VI's corporate functions, the Solicitor may also assist with procurement and governance.
While some working from home can be accommodated, the role requires regular attendance in the office to access secure and sensitive material.
