THE ROLEThe Solicitor role in the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office (Statewide CPLO) is responsible for providing legal advice, support, and representation in child protection litigation matters in various courts including the Children's Court of Victoria, the Supreme Court of Victoria, and related jurisdictions.You will work predominantly with one of Statewide CPLO's legal teams and will travel to various Children's Court locations and child protection offices.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:Provide well-reasoned legal advice, briefings, and correspondence.Collaborate with departmental colleagues to deliver client-focused legal services.Appear or instruct in litigation involving the department in a wide range of courts and tribunals.COVID-19 VACCINATIONThe department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances.HOW TO APPLYAll VPS employees (and ex-VPS employees with extended access to the Jobs and Skills Exchange website) MUST apply via the Jobs and Skills Exchange (JSE) portal.
