As our Solicitor, Health Law, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and support to our members on a wide range of medico-legal and contractual matters for members working in the public and private hospital systems, and private medical practice.Based in our offices in St Leonards, NSW, this is a full-time position where you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our dedicated team and contribute to the association's strategic objectives.What you'll be doingProviding advice and support to Members regarding medico-legal and contract matters.A broad remit of work including contracts, privacy, investigations and disciplinary matters.Negotiating with hospital administrators, Local Health Districts and the Ministry of Health.Contributing to the collective knowledge and learning by designing and delivering Member resources & training presentations.Drafting submissions on issues including proposed legislative reform and medical practitioner regulation for parliamentary and other inquiries.What we're looking forBachelor of Law degree.Demonstrated minimum 2 – 4 years post admission experience, ideally in a law firm or in-house legal role.Expertise in medico-legal and contract law, with a strong understanding of the medical and/or healthcare industry.Excellent drafting and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.Confident to deliver presentations in training and information sessions.Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.A proactive and collaborative approach, with a commitment to providing exceptional service to our members.What we offerIn addition to a competitive salary, you will enjoy:Hybrid working arrangements, after qualifying period.Health and Wellness Benefits.A friendly, collaborative team culture.About usThe Australian Medical Association (NSW) is the peak representative body for medical practitioners in New South Wales.
