This is an exciting opportunity to lead initiatives that strengthen local law and justice systems while empowering Traditional Owners and community members in the Big Rivers region.About the Role:As part of our Executive Management Team, you'll be the driving force behind the Committee's activities, working to ensure the successful implementation of the Local Action Plan and to support community-led justice initiatives.
You will lead communications between the Committee and key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and cultural protocols, all while providing mentorship to community leaders.
Your role will be pivotal in advocating for culturally sensitive and equitable justice solutions for the Barunga and Wugularr communities.You will oversee the coordination of Committee meetings, manage project implementation across multiple communities, and align the Committee's goals with broader justice reforms in the Northern Territory.
This is your chance to make a real difference by fostering collaboration, respecting tradition, and promoting justice.About You:Our ideal applicant will have a deep knowledge and understanding of Local Laws and other relevant legislation, regulations, and governing law applicable to this position, particularly within the context of community consultation and regulation.
You possess strong investigative skills, with the ability to gather and present sustainable evidence for prosecution in court in relation to offences under legislation.You excel in conflict and dispute resolution, with a talent for identifying sustainable alternatives and outcomes.
You can work with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative, good judgment, and making sound decisions that lead to identifiable results.
