Job Description As a Solar Electrician Apprentice, you will receive on-the-job and classroom training. The Solar Electrician Apprentice will help to provide a standardized approach and duties for the installation of industrial-grade solar farms and electrical components. You will install and test electrical equipment and circuitry. The intent characterizes and applies to installations irrespective of vendors and suppliers.
Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as trade-specific and shared responsibilities:
Identify components of a solar tracker system. Installation of solar PV systems and mounting equipment including: Installing underground raceway, above ground raceway, and cable hangers. Pull, terminate, and test D/C cables. Load, transport, unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies; restock as necessary. May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and workpieces during installation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials. Must be able to climb ladders and work above ground as necessary. Perform a variety of tasks involving safe, dexterous use of hand tools. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
