This newly created position will lead a talented team of 5 Engineers during a large-scale IT transformation. This role will be tasked with modernising the company's technical capability, and broader engineering practices. Supported by an exceptional leadership team, this is a unique opportunity to positively shape the engineering culture and take ownership of the company's flagship platform.What you'll do:Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Hands-on Development: Contribute to the development of our platform, working alongside your team on both frontend and backend development.Platform Ownership: Take ownership of our flagship platform, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security.Technical Strategy: Define and execute the technical strategy for the platform, making informed decisions based on industry best practices.Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences.You will be an ideal candidate if you have:Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.A deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.A passion for building high-quality, scalable, and secure applications.Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A positive and collaborative attitude.Please note: This role is based in Melbourne CBD on a hybrid basis - this team likes to work with the balance of 2 days per week in the Melbourne office.
