About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Management Engineer to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne or Melbourne, reporting to the Software Engineering Lead. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working. You will be responsible for delegated software management engineering activities as directed by the team leader, in accordance with relevant project procedures and work instructions to achieve project technical, schedule and cost goals. Key responsibilities include: Undertake all assigned Software Management Engineering activities, including maintenance of related documentation, in accordance with identified project directives and standards, and commensurate with the lifecycle stage of the project Proactively provide status update information to relevant stakeholders i.e supervisors and/or project manager. Leverage experience to assist in development of project infrastructure, such as tools deployment, metrics collection and process development Take accountability for work packages while working effectively as part of a Software Engineering team Responsible for performing software management engineering tasks in accordance with the relevant software engineering plans Other duties as required About YOU Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word Strong attention to detail Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations Previous experience in a similar role in software documentation We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
