The Software Integration Engineer provides expertise in configuring, integrating, testing, and delivering software components for projects as well as supporting integration of new equipment and systems within Saab.
Further, the successful candidate will:
A broad understanding of the operational use of the associated system under development. Integration of software components into system software configuration. Maintenance of the software integration environments, including integration of new software and equipment into test sites. Installation of system software in test sites, customer sites and other remote locations. Preparation of Test documentation, conduct of Integration Testing, Formal System Testing and support to Test Readiness Review. Participate in reviews of software and documentation as required. Provision of assistance to the Software Integration Team Leader in the planning and management of integration activities. Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned. Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight.
About you Your skills and experience will include:
Tertiary qualifications in systems engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline. Experience in integration of software components in a near real time software intensive system. Experience in integration of COTS/MOTS components. Experience in integration testing of software intensive systems. Experience with the products, development environment and the tools used to develop and support software. Experience in developing software components within software intensive systems. Experience with software configuration management tools. Knowledge about contemporary software development standards, principles and best practices. Experience working within a team environment. Experience in Linux System Administration. Knowledge and experience across many software languages (Ada, Java, Go, Bash, Python, C++, C). Knowledge and experience across many software architectures. Experience with any of the following tools/technologies: Dockers, Jenkins, DDS, Git and Automated Test Frameworks. A genuine interest and appreciation of large commercial and defence software intensive systems. As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
