About HUBBED HUBBED is an ecommerce technology solutions company that also has a parcel collection point (PUDO) network of over 2,200 retail locations in Australia.
This means retailers and logistics companies can use our technology to provide click & collect and returns services to their customers with parcel pick up from our 24/7 retail locations.
This gives customers more convenience, choice, and control in ecommerce delivery and provides retailers with more delivery choices.
HUBBED has operated in Australia since 2014 and has expanded to additional markets including New Zealand and The Philippines.
This year expansion plans include 5 new markets across Asia and the US.
Our technology and operations enables seamless cohesion between retailers, logistics and consumers.
All whilst delivering reductions in carbon emissions in support of a sustainable supply chain.
HUBBED have a full time opportunity at our Sydney office based in Balmain,  for an innovative Software Engineer who has the determination and ability to take ownership.
You will work closely with other engineers product managers, and stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities Application Development: Develop high-quality software solutions by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Work on full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
Continuously improve codebases, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
Feature Design and Implementation: Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand feature requirements, technical feasibility, and scope.
Translate user stories and business needs into practical solutions, designing new features with scalability and usability in mind.
Implement well-structured code that aligns with project goals, considering future maintenance and extension.
Code Review and Quality Assurance: Participate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency.
Ensure all code is well-documented and adheres to the team's coding standards.
Test code rigorously to minimize bugs and maximise stability, contributing to automated testing efforts where applicable.
Performance Optimisation: Analyze and improve the performance of applications, optimizing code and database queries to achieve faster load times and better efficiency.
Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance system responsiveness and scalability.
Debugging and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve software bugs, system issues, and user-reported problems in a timely manner.
Use debugging tools and data to identify root causes, ensuring quick and effective fixes to minimize downtime and user impact.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to contribute to team transparency and continuous improvement.
Keep stakeholders informed about project progress, risks, and potential roadblocks.
What you will bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 4+years' experience in backend application development using Java High level of intellectual curiosity Previous experience with AWS products such as: API Gateway, Cognito, Aurora Postgres, Fargate, SNS, SQS, Cloudfront, ECR Demonstrable experience of building highly available and secure services in AWS Experience with shell scripting, Python, and Javascript Experience with Unit Tests, BDDs Experience with Spunk or other monitoring tools Passionate and able to work in a team environment Self starter and ambitious Worked in agile teams with focus on quality and continuous improvement Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000+super HUBBED is committed to creating a diverse & inclusive environment.
