What you'll do
We're looking for someone with a passion for modern web technology and a focus for building excellent user experiences. You are highly collaborative but able to work independently with a goal oriented mindset. This role will involve being the front-end engineer responsible for developing services for our new client-facing platform, enabling clients to efficiently plan, book, and measure their advertising campaigns with Cartology. Your tasks will include developing client-side components, integrating them with backend APIs, ensuring a seamless and high-performance user experience, and collaborating with your co-workers to integrate their front-end elements into the platform. You'll also be responsible for translating business requirements into technical tasks, providing component design, and ensuring code quality and scalability.
Develop front-end components for our new ad booking and campaign management platform
Translate business requirements into technical tasks and provide estimates
Provide component design, planning and estimates
Ensure quality of code, stability and scalability of platform in production
Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team members
Identify and troubleshoot front-end issues and bugs
Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, BAs, QAs and fellow engineers
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to front-end development
Contribute to shaping and fostering an engineering culture that values innovation and excellence
What you'll bring
5+ years experience within Front End Software Engineering
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Typescript
Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks/library such as React, Redux, or Next.js
Proficient in writing clean, well-organised, testable and maintainable code
Knowledge of software design patterns and best practices
Experience in implementing best practices for testing, including awareness of TDD and BDD
A solid grasp of agile development practices (XP, Scrum, Kanban, etc), and the ability to choose the most suitable methodology for each project and situation
Highly Advantageous
Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser/platform compatibility
Understanding of front-end performance profiling, and enhancement techniques
Knowledge of working with cloud platforms, especially GCP
Understanding of common web protocols (HTTP, JWT, and web sockets)
Experience with user authentication and authorisation across multiple systems, servers, and environments
