The opportunity ASIO is seeking to fill Software Engineer positions in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth locations.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Role responsibilities As a Software Engineer, you will:
Play a key role in developing, enhancing, and sustaining integral ASIO data processing and visualisation capabilities used to inform ASIO investigations. The role sits with the Processing and Development team who supports the Enterprise by providing technical solutions that are best-practice, fit-for-purpose, and enhance the end-user experience.
What you will bring We invite applications from people with the following attributes:
Required Skills The ability to develop, deploy, and maintain technical solutions using Python/C#. A proven ability to craft technical documentation and effectively collaborate using a variety of tools to ensure seamless tracking and communication. Capability to solve complex technical problems with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of the fundamentals of network architecture and security. Other Desirable Skills and Experience Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD tooling, containerisation and service-oriented architecture. Experience with databases, caching, messaging systems and ETL tools such as document stores, relational databases (RDBMS), messaging and data transfer services. Knowledge of containerisation and other orchestration tools. Experience with the fundamentals of network architecture and security. Aligned SFIA skills, such as: Programming (PROG). Software Configuration (PORT). Systems Integration and Build (SINT). Testing (TEST). Data Engineering (DENG). Systems Design (DESN). Experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, Java, Golang). A tertiary qualification in a technology-related field. At least 3 years of experience in a software engineer or similar role.
